Do you think the London cycle scheme should have been rolled out to Greenwich?

Whilst I can understand why Boris Johnson's London cycling scheme hasn't been rolled out to the boroughs, I can understand why. but that doesn't stop some of you being really rather annoyed by it.

London Assembly member Len Duvall said “There is no reason why the positive outcomes of a cycle hire scheme could not be of benefit to the people of Greenwich and

Lewisham."

And that's entirely true. But if the scheme is successful in the centre of London, it will be rollled out over boroughs and should reach Greenwich by 2012. Expect everything that ever happens in London to happen by 2012.

But there are 13 boroughs are set to be part of the biking scheme, and Greenwich isn't one of them? Why not? There's a huge potential for cycling to be a big part of Greenwich and Lewisham - especially with all of the river pathways and parks. It's a shame that we have to wait another two years before London is willing to invest in that.

I'll still use the bikes in Central London, but wouldn't it be fun if you you hop on a train to a new area and explore by bike? I hope the cycling scheme happens quicker than expected in the area. From what I've seen of the scheme in central London, it can only have a postive affect on the area.

What do you think? Would you use the bikes if they were available?
