Crossrail Station to be built in Woolwich

It looks like commuter options are likely to get even easier now Woolwich is set to get a Crossrail Station. A £100m deal has been made to build the station, but as yet, there's been no deal to fund it. Which means that it might never actually get used.

According to The Evening Standard, the Government are after local business to stump up the cash to pay for it. But, they also say "Crossrail will put 1.5 million more people within a 45-minute journey of

London's key business centres, boosting economic growth and generating

thousands of jobs." And actually, I think they're right.

When the DLR first opened, not all of the stations were used all the time, but for the locals, it's a vast improvement. It might be a small step, but it's a good one.

    It would be wonderful if Woolwich were able to get funding that money would bring in many jobs for Woolwich.
