Remember I told you about all the 2012 events in Greenwich next year? Well the tickets are finally available and you can apply for them until April 26th. There are 6.6 million of them, which puts you in good stead of getting a couple. There's no first come first served basis, you won't benefit from applying any earlier in the process.

But really, we want to know how much they are. Well, prices start at £20, which seems reasonable, but let's have a closer look at the events locally.

Basketball looks to be around the £30-40 mark, and goes up to £115. Yes, there are £20 tickets available, but you're paying a lot for not great seats. Some of the equestrian events are creeping up to £275 a ticket.

I guess it all depends on how much you love the sport on offer, and whether you're willing to bump up the cash. I'm not sure I like sports enough to stump up such a lot of cash. I don't much care for dressage.

Hoping that you can apply and see if you get lucky before you have to worry about stumping up the cash? No can do. If you've applied, they'll take your cash if you're successful. Which absolutely makes sense, but I would rather have a say about when someone was taking money out of my account. "Please ensure you have sufficient funds available on the Visa card you

provide between Tuesday 10 May 2011 and Friday 10 June 2011" is not an appealing window for me.

The tickets are going to be snapped up, there's no doubt about it. It's just a shame that it doesn't feel like 'our' Olympics. I'm not suggesting that we go for free, but a nod to the locals wouldn't go amiss, would it?
