Get Fit in Greenwich

Every year, I promise that I'm going to get fit. I promise that I'm at
-
Get fit for 2011. Just put down that cake first...
least going to go for an hour long walk every day. I tend to keep this
up for an impressive two days. And then one of these things happen: It
rains, it's cold, I forget, it rains. And of course, then someone
invites me to the pub. Before I know if, I've forgotten all about my
healthy eating and exercise plan and I'm eating chips on the way home at
midnight.
It's not like Greenwich is short of options for getting fit either. We've got that massive park for running about in
for a start (handy, that). But if you need a trainer, a class and
something a little more solid and motivational, here are some places you
should check out:
Our local gym and swimming pool. Not too helpful when you want to sign
up, if you're not sure what you want to do yet, but pretty good
facilities and a massive amount of classes.
I'm kicking off with a Flamenco class here tomorrow. I'm fully aware
that I'm going to look like an idiot. But I like that you can do drop-in
classes here for around £8. So if you really do like silly, you won't
lose any money if you don't come back the next week.
Greenwich Fitness and Pilates:
I've never done pilates before. I've been tempted, but if you've tried
it, and you've tried the centre in Greenwich I'd love to know what you
thought about it.
It's moved to a larger and nicer location in Greenwich Market, but the
stock is excellent and if it's your diet you want to sort out, you
should pop in.
Yoga Lounge: Held in West Greenwich Community and Arts Centre, Poga Lounge have lots of classes to fit around your busy schedule.
Now all I have to do is remember to sign up to one and get in shape. That's the difficult bit, isn't it?
