Top public relations expert gives talk in Greenwich

One of the UK's most senior strategic PR practitioners is giving a talk at the university as part of the Big Picture seminar series.

Colin Byrne, Chief Executive Officer of global public relations agency Weber Shandwick, will be sharing his expertise in media relations, corporate and political communications and issues management at the free event on Wednesday 13 March.

Colin has managed national and international press offices and advised many senior figures in business and politics on issues including reputation management and handling the media. Companies such as Shell, Coca-Cola and the BBC, as well as President Vladimir Putin of Russia and the British Government, have been among his clients.

Weber Shandwick maintains the largest public relations network in the world, operating in virtually ever major media, government and business centre across six continents. In 2012 the company was recognised as one of the 100 Best Companies to work for in the UK by the Sunday Times.

His talk will run between 5pm and 7pm in KW315, King William Court, Greenwich Campus.

The Big Picture series, run by the Business School, features senior figures from media, commerce and industry speaking at the university. The seminars have proved to be hugely popular among university staff, students and the general public.
