Olympic officials have revealed that Greenwich Park locals will be given free tickets to the official Olympic equestrian test event, in a bid to soften their initial opposition to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Free tickets for the equestrian events will be issued on a first come first served basis.
2012 Olympic organising committee chief executive Paul Deighton said the 'donated' tickets for the equestrian test events, held 4th - 6th July this year, would only be distributed across the local borough and not available to widespread public. 5,000 paid tickets will be available on the eventing day and 2,000 each on dressage and showjumping days. There would also be a small number of tickets distributed through the British Equestrian Federation.
Greenwich Council has managed to secure 1,000 free tickets for local residents and another 3,630 children and young people will also receive free tickets through their schools. To apply for tickets send an email, with your name, contact number, address and the event you want to see, before Friday 3rd June to:
test-event-tickets@greenwich.gov.uk
There is a maximum two tickets per person and if you're successful at the ballot, Greenwich Council will notify you to let you know where you can go to collect your tickets. Proof of address will be required. Good luck!
