Should Greenwich Borough have more 2012 tickets?

There's a little bit of a council strop going on about 2012 at the moment, according to Rob Powell over on Greenwich.co.uk. Apparently Council Leader Chris Roberts is annoyed that there

haven't been more free tickets allocated to school kids in the borough.

Despite this anger being question by Nigel Fletcher (deputy leader of

the Greenwich conservatives), because apparently the ticket allocation

wasn't a part of the agreement for Greenwich boroughs.

So what do you think? Would you like more school children to have to

opportunity to see some of the Olympic events for free (if they're not

lucky enough to get a free ticket, they can be purchased for anything

from £25 to an ironic £2012) or are the 75,000 tickets that Boris is

underwriting enough? It means that one in eight kids will get a free

ticket in London. But, the London hosting boroughs aren't eligible for

any extra.

I'm torn. I can see where Chris Roberts is coming from and it would be

great if all school kids got to attend such a special event, but I can't

help but feel that this argument is coming a little late. Or, wondering

if there are no free tickets for the people on the council...
