I love The Oscars. Well, that's not entirely true. I love about six of the awards (I don't much care for best make-up), I love checking out the reactions of the winners and losers and I love looking at what people are wearing. That's key for me. And I was absolutely thrilled that Greenwich vintage boutique 360 Degrees was getting name-checked. But, as I was in the middle of the countryside and without internet, I couldn't quite understand why.

And then I saw the news on my return. Turns out Livia Firth (yes, wife of best actor gong winner Colin Firth) was decked out in vintage from the shop. But the story doesn't end there, oh no. She wasn't wearing one dress. She was wearing eleven. ELEVEN! They'd be cut up and used to create one new dress, and people are kind of up in arms about it.

On one hand, you've got the vintage fashion blogs going mad that it's hacking beloved dresses to pieces (apparently only the best dresses were sourced). On the flip side, you've got green people saying that's it's NOT eco-friendly and dressing it up like that is unethical. And then there are the people who think it's art. And this is before we've even got to the opinions about the dress itself.

Whatever your thoughts on the dress, and the ethics of how designer Gary Harvey works, this little Greenwich store is getting more attention than they ever imagined. All over the world. That's got to be a positive thing, even if you don't agree with the dress itself.

What are your thoughts? A bad move by the shop, or a beautiful work of art?
