The Improlympians are an improvised comedy group that were based in Birmingham but, like majestic ospreys, they have flown the coop and found themselves with a gig in Greenwich, London.
Greenwich… home of the line meridian.
Birmingham… home of the invention of custard powder and the magnetron.
Next time you see someone microwaving some Bird’s original, take a step closer and have a good whiff. That’s the smell of Brummie enterprise. Or as a Brummie might say, “Yow are breathing in Birmingham yow are”. That tenuously explains the picture on the other side let’s get back to the point.
The Improlympians improvise. It’s generally funny. Sunday October 16th (at the Mitre in Greenwich) will see improvised comedy sketches followed by a comedy play created in front of your very eyes based on a title suggested by the audience. It starts at 7.30p.m. Doors open at 7pm. We should be done by 10pm. Tickets cost £7/£6 Students.
‘They’re really good at improv’ (ThreeWeeks).
‘More comedy should be like this’ (Edinburghfestival.list.co.uk)
