There's a Greenwich Market protest happening TODAY! At 2pm, join councellor Maureen O’Mara (Labour, Greenwich West) at College Approach for the protest, which will hopefully show the council just how strong local opposition is to the development plans.

The council is 100% opposed to the development and the Planning Board voted against it unanimously months back. So believe me the council have shown that they are on the side of local opinion and to be fair and leading the campaign against the plans - hence this demo at the weekend.

You're absolutely right, Steve. My speedy comment before I got ready to go down there doesn't read properly (because I wrote it wrong in my haste). I'm thrilled that the council are backing this and can't believe that Greenwich Hospital want to tear apart the heart of the Greenwich Community.

Apologies to anyone for any confusion caused. The council being on side is an excellent thing and will hopefully make sure the plans don't go ahead.
