An event in development: the Thames Trail

We're looking for local residents and local historians to contribute to our new heritage project, the Thames Trail. If you might be interested, or know someone who might be, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you: louise@viewfinder.org.uk

We're developing a photowalk along the Greenwich riverside in partnership with Greenwich Heritage Centre and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, exploring the local history and how the area has changed, with an accompanying phone app focusing on Greenwich's industrial and shipbuilding heritage.

We’re seeking locals to interview in October 2012 (or early November), who remember how the area has changed or who were involved in shipbuilding or industry. Interviews extracts will be used on the phone app and posted on Viewfinder's website.

We’re also seeking local historians to interview in October (again, to use extracts from the interviews for the app and website) about the area, and to draft a brief overview of the history of the riverside from mid-19th century onwards. We’d also like to record a local historian for the app's voiceover.
