I've just been reading over on The Charlton Champion about the petition to save Maryon Wilson animal centre. There are plans to close the centre if sponsorship can't be found (it costs £43,000 to run each year apparently).

I've never been to the animal centre, although now I'm very tempted to go and see the ducks and geese and pigs. If there's no support, the centre could close in April 2012. What happens to the animals if it does?

The petition can be found here: http://www.gopetition.com/petition/42106.html There's only 213 signatures on there at the moment, and there will need to be many many more to make a difference to the fate of the centre.
