  I live in the New Eltham / Avery hill area and I am wondering if the council has now cut the street cleaners. The build up of street rubbish has become a disgrace along with health implications. The littering his particularly bad around New Eltham , Avery hill Rd and Southwood Rd.

  I've just been reading over on The Charlton Champion about the petition to save Maryon Wilson animal centre. There are plans to close the centre if sponsorship can't be found (it costs £43,000 to run each year apparently). I've never been to the animal centre, although now I'm very tempted to go and see the ducks and geese and pigs. If there's no support, the centre could close in April 2012.
