With the wedding season in full swing, one local Interflora florist is reporting an increase in budget-savvy brides who want beautiful flowers for less.
Gemma Montila who owns the Tudor Rosette florist shop in Charlton said: “After the Royal wedding last year a lot of brides want to emulate Kate’s bouquet which included Lily of the Valley, Murtle and Sweet Williams. However with these flowers being very seasonal the costs are out of reach for a lot of brides-to-be.”
Asked how brides could get the look for less, Gemma said: “The key to Kate’s wedding bouquet was its timeless elegance. This look can be achieved through using other white flowers such as calla lilies or roses, simply arranged with a little greenery for a chic, understated look.”
Asked what the most popular wedding flower was at the moment, Gemma added: “The must have wedding flower of the moment must be the gerbera. More affordable than roses and lillies, the gerberas are a wonderful choice for brides on a budget and the fact that they are available in a wide spectrum of colours means there’s a shade to match practically every colour scheme.”
