A University of Greenwich student is in the running to win a car in an award scheme for the most deserving student being run by used car advertiser

Zoe Forsyth, who lives in Gillingham, was nominated by her husband, Joe, who has just completed his third term in Afghanistan. In his absence, Zoe has been training to become a nurse while looking after their two children and living hundreds of miles from her friends and family.

Despite these challenges, Zoe completed a full time access course with nearly all distinctions. She was then accepted by her first choice university, Greenwich, and has embarked on a three year full-time degree.

Alongside her full-time studies, Zoe also runs a support website for fellow wives and girlfriends of ex- and serving members of the Armed Forces, which she set up herself ten years ago. The site provides support to others in need, and also does charity work for the Royal British Legion and the Royal British Legion Woman's section.

Zoe says: "I didn't expect my husband to enter me into the competition, let alone that I had made the final ten, as I am sure there are a lot of deserving people out there."

After being shortlisted from around 200 other entries, Zoe is currently facing a public vote, along with nine other student finalists from universities up and down the UK.

The three students to receive the most public votes will go through to face a panel of judges, who will select the 'most deserving' student to receive the award and receive a Renault Twingo Extreme, worth £5000, and £1000 to give to her student union or a student society of her choice.
